Margarita Ruiz-Altisent

  •  Ingeniero Agrónomo y Doctora Ingenierra Agrónoma por la UPM y Master of Science in Engineering por la UC-Davis-California.
  • Catedrática Emérita en la a E.T.S.I.A.A.B. (Ingeniería Agrícola, Agroalimentaria y de Biosistemas).
Su experiencia investigadora comenzó mucho antes de acabar su carrera. Colaboró en diversos centros de investigación como becaria pre y postdoctoral (Univ. Polit. Valencia, Univ. California -Davis, U.P.M.) compaginando las labores de investigación con el inicio de su carrera docente. En su estancia en el Dept. of Agricultural Engineering en la Univ. of California – Davis se especializó en el área de pos-cosecha de fruta obteniendo el Master of Sc. in Agricultural Engineering. Profesora Titular /Adjunta en 1982 y Catedrática de Universidad, en 2001.

Ha dirigido 23 tesis doctorales, entre las que se incluyen dos Premios Extraordinarios de la UPM.

Desde 1984 ha dirigido/participado en más de 60 proyectos de investigación nacionales y europeos (CAMAR-IVPM-EU, VPM-EU, CICYT, FAIR, CDTI, Acciones integradas, PETRI, Proyectos de la CAM, y convenios con empresas varias). Ha publicado 50 artículos en revistas incluidas en el CI del ISI, y más de 150 artículos en diversas publicaciones, nacionales e internacionales.

Es miembro de instituciones internacionales de ingeniería agraria, rural y hortícola: CIGR, SECH, ISHS, EurAgEng, AgIng. Posee seis sexenios de investigación reconocidos, realiza además una eficaz labor en el LPF-Tagralia. Desempeñó el cargo de Vicerrectora de Extensión Universitaria y recibió la Medalla de Oro de la UPM.

  • Agricultural Engineer, Master of Science in Engineering-Agricultural, at UC-DAVIS- California, PhD by the UPM, In Agricultural Engineering. At present: Emeritus Full Professor at the E.T.S.I A.A.B ( Agricultural, Agrifood and Biosystems Engineering) at the UPM: Technical University Madrid  / research .

Her research experience began long before finishing her University studies. She collaborated in several research centers as a pre- and postdoctoral fellow (Univ. Polit. Valencia, Univ. California -Davis, UPM) combining research work with the beginning of her teaching career. During her tenure at the Dept. of Agricultural Engineering at the Univ. of California – Davis, she specialized in the post-harvest area of ​​fruits and vegetables, obtaining the Degree of Master of Sc. In Engineering.   Lecturer and Professor from 1974, Full Professor in 2001 / Vice-chancellor (Univ Extension) in 1982-1984.

She has directed 23 doctoral theses, which include two Extraordinary Awards of the UPM, and various Conference Articles Awards.

Since 1984 she has directed or participated in more than 60 National and European research and innovation projects (CAMAR-IV PM-EU, V PM-EU, CICYT, FAIR, CDTI, Integrated Actions, PETRI, CAM Regional Projects, and privat research contracts, and more than 150 articles in various national and international publications.

She is engaged in scientific and education evaluations in various EU and national programs: REA-EU, National Agencies in Spain (ANECA), Italy, France; Regional Agencies (Madrid, Galicia, Illes Balears). The scope: research and innovation projects, scientific  and  teaching programs and professionals.

She is a member of International agricultural, rural and horticultural engineering institutions: CIGR, SECH, ISHS, EurAgEng, AgIng. She has deserved  six national steps (CNEAI) of research recognized, also performs an effective work in the LPF-Tagralia. She served as Vice Chancellor of University Extension and received the Gold Medal of the UPM.
